Data Scientist

State++

New York, NY

Small start-up developing analysis pipelines for tabular and EEG timeseries data. We recently achieved 2ⁿᵈ place in NeuroTechX's Global Hackathon Brain Age Prediction Challenge, using brain signals to predict age to a mean absolute error of 1.60 years.

2020 - 2021

University of Toronto Psychology Department

PhD Student in Computational Neuroscience

2019 - 2020

University of Toronto Psychology Department

Masters Computational Neuroscience

As a graduate student I specialized in applying computational methods to social-cognitive neuroscience questions.

Together with my advisor, we mapped fMRI-based information flow across brain areas during social decision-making, examined the dynamics of social category formation, and dabbled in deep reinforcement learning modelling of human social behaviour.

While I finished the Masters program, developments in the neuro-tech industry increasingly captured my imagination and I decided to leave the PhD program after the first year.

2015 - 2019

University of Toronto Psychology Department

Junior Data Scientist,

Computational Affective Neuroscience &

Social Cognitive Science Labs

Years where I cut my teeth on computational neuroscience data analysis. Led analyses of ~5 projects a year (see projects for some examples). Taught neuroimaging analysis to graduate and undergraduate students.
